Civil Engineering Students Place Third in 2016 Design & Construct Competition

Students from our Department of Civil Engineering—Turab Kılıç (Captain), Hanife Çakal, Bedirhan Çoban, Emine Doğueri, and Ozan Hozer—demonstrated outstanding performance and achieved third place in the 2016 Design & Construct Competition held at Boğaziçi University.

The competition aimed to design the most aesthetic bridge, optimize the structure using SAP2000, minimize horizontal and vertical displacements, construct the bridge in the shortest time, ensure its stability, prevent buckling, and minimize penalties according to the competition rules.

Our students met these criteria and successfully passed the preliminary stage out of 80 universities. They then secured third place among 15 universities, including international participants.

We congratulate our students for their patience, determination, drive, and success throughout this challenging process.
