Civil Engineering Students Place Third in 2017 Design & Construct Competition

Students from our Department of Civil Engineering—Turab Kılıç (Captain), Ozan Hozer, Bahadır Şahin, Hanife Çakal, Sibel Cürebal, and Demet Ak—achieved third place in the 2017 Design & Construct Competition held at Boğaziçi University under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Eşref Ünlüoğlu.

The competition aimed to design the most aesthetic bridge, optimize its structure using SAP2000, minimize horizontal and vertical displacements, construct the bridge in the shortest time, and ensure its stability while minimizing penalties.

Our students passed the preliminary stage among 25 teams and achieved third place out of 15 universities, including international participants.
